China's leading smartphone maker Vivo has announced that it will offer Android OS updates for some of its smartphones for the next three years. However, the company has not yet revealed which phones have been included in this list. But reports are claiming that the company can choose its flagship model Vivo X-Series for this.
Following in the footsteps of MHD Global and Samsung, the company has announced an Android OS update for 3 years in its smartphone. The company has said in a statement that the new policy will cover the Australian, European and Indian markets. Instead of providing updates for all its recent and upcoming models, Vivo said that these updates will be given to the flagship X-series, which the company is about to launch in the upcoming July.
Let me tell you that earlier, HMD Global also promised last month that it will give Android update for three years to its Nokia X phone. Apart from this, last year Samsung also announced to give Android update for three years to its smartphones. However, the company listed 40 devices in its new update.
Vivo has also said that models of the X-series that are not eligible for the latest updates will continue to receive regular Android security updates. Vivo's Senior Vice President and CTO, Yujian Shi said, "We want to make sure that our customers get the software support that meets their expectations. For this we will keep updating our devices from time to time."
Vivo has not given any information about its new X-series phone yet. It is believed that the company can launch Vivo X70 Pro + in the market first. It will also get 4,500mAh battery and 66 Watt fast charging support. Apart from this, the smartphone can be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC processor.
